Legacy

My whole family was in tears. I'm a Legacy at BC too...Eagles Fly High!

Maybe Mrs. Clayvessel's terror soundings will clear the way for my waitlisted D! Think twice all you DC accepteds! Better you should reconsider Williams, Dartmouth and UVA and other country schools! (note to the FBI: this is not a threat, just an observation). Also, it's easier to find parking.

i was a legacy at gtown and got deferred early but just got in today. I think its absolutely ridiculous that all these people htink just because ur a legacy that ur automatically in ecspecially at a place like gtown that has an admitted bad legacy program. If you don't qualify, you won't get in early or at all and thats it.

Gtownbound: I don't think any of these legacies think their status confers an automatic acceptance, but if you think it's not part of the picture, you're kidding yourself. I havent seen 2 kids on this site tonite that weren't "qualified" to attend G'town, so if your legacy helpled push you over the top, congrats, but recognize that there are lots of equally deserving kids--many of whose families have already poured 4 years of tuition and heaven knows how many donations into the coffers--who are disappointed and might have gotten the nod, instead.

i wasn't trying to say it didn't help, but it wasn't the only reason i got in like so many people have assumed

ofcourse not, I don't think that. I am was talking about people who got in ONLY because they have family working at G-town as professors or they donate money every year. When you were first reviewed, like said, they did not take into consideration your legacy status, you were like anyother applicant. They waitlisted you on that so it shows you were qualified for G-town or they would have just flat out denied you. Maybe the legacy thing pushed you over the top when they looked at it again but you were boarder line anyways so who is to say you wouldn't have gotten in even if you didn't have legacy.

Congrats!

automatic legacy only works for guys like George W:)
