Legacy

I'm in Alaska, shoebox, and I really am TIRED OF SNOW!! I like my old gentle mountains of Virginia much better than these tall, mean ones!

Thanks, Dean J and shoebox. Sorry to add to the stress.

Oh, and I expect some christmas CavDog pictures on the blog soon

[/QUOTE]
I posted one yesterday afternoon and have some more coming.

Hard to strike the right balance with CavDog pictures...I could post a dozen a day, but that wouldn't be very professional. :)

For the record Dean J those CavDog pictures are like Psychiatry for the uninsured. I remember looking at them and laughing despite the stress of college admissions, completing the IB, and dealing with life in general. If you have more than you are posting it would not be unprofessional IMO to share them. They are funny. Stress relievers for High School seniors is a good thing. Can't have to much at a time when laughs are pretty hard to come by.

Since you mentioned CavDog, would you mind sharing with us how in the world you created the lion look for Halloween? I stared at that pic for 5 minutes trying to figure out what you had to do to give a golden retriever a mane.

I felt sorry for CavDog last year at Easter when you put those rabbit ears on his head. He looked depressed. That Lion picture had him looking pretty proud.

Hair extensions.

There are about six layers of hair extensions (two different colors) sewn to a circle of elastic that frames Cav's face. It feels like a soft, flexible hoop. Another piece of elastic is attached to each side of the hoop. That piece slips around the back of his head. The whole thing is sort of like a mask with a hole for his entire face.

It seemed like a way for him to have a costume without wearing something that would restrict his movement.

I think I suggested it last year, but maybe I'll say it just in case. Maybe right after the deadline, when kids are going to be still freaking out checking your blog when they should be relieved it's all done, post a picture and ask them to come up with a funny caption. It would be nice again the week or so before April 1st. A fun way to deal with admissions and take the stress off them.
I like how you fit the picture/caption to your entry's theme. Great work :) It's been fun to see CavDog grow up, he's quite the hunk these days. Watch out, all the ladies will want him

shoe, I don't know if I've ever professed my undying love to you, but I am doing it now. Post 13/14 were brilliant. I saw tired's posts the other day because this thread went to page 2; I went back to the first page to see what happened, and I saw 2 very large posts and thought "holy god. not right now." so I saved the read until now.

Tired, I think that's what we all were last week: tired. It was finals time, we were all stressed, and things that don't usually bother us start to get annoying at times. Questions that come up repeatedly/things that require a simple google search and rude/snide comments (or the appearance of them) are usually at the top of that list. I know a week ago or so, there was someone who asked about some football player and i posted something straight off of wikipedia and said something about google. he posted something in return (it could have been construed as snide or playful, i took it as snide.) and I went off on him. I'm not really sorry about it, but if that had happened sometime in september/august, I wouldn't have just said eh, not worth getting into an argument and not posted again.

it's also unfortunate that attempts at humor/playfulness can easily come off as rudeness. I always insert a :) ;) :D type to indicate that I'm playing around. It has a good success rate...;)

haha tired, i just saw you live in alaska. that gave me a chuckle. (p.s. i'm reading/responding as i go along. i'm currently at tired's alaska post for those of you who want to read/respond along with me.)

LIES. tis quite professional. as is peer pressure. err, well, human pressure. since we really aren't your peers Dean J. :)

at vistany's post. agree with everything. BAHAHAHAA to last line. amen. he didn't look too happy.

good lord Dean J, there was more thought into cavdog's costume than mine.

shoe, great idea.

ah, have finished. now to me. Dean J, I know that anything you wrote on your blog, I ate it up. Whether it was Cavdog or food on the downtown mall or actual admissions related stuff, it was just good to know you were alive lol. I enjoyed the non-admissions posts more actually. Perhaps you could do a profile on yourself? We'll submit questions to you (non admissions related) and you can answer some of them on your blog? It'll be a great way for us to get to know you better and it'll be prefect for procrastinating. ;) If the rest of the admissions staff is up for it, we could come up with a few questions to ask everyone on the admissions team and you could slowly reveal the answers. That way, we'll get to know everyone!! and you won't have to keep coming up with new material and prospies will have something to read (let's face it...it's more like stalking your blog. ;) I know I did it last year. checked my mail, facebook, then your blog lol.)

ahh, as you can see, all, db123 is cured and back to normal of the demon known as finals week. The cantankerous, witty, entertaining, and oh so divine version of db123 will not be making another appearance until finals week in the spring. or perhaps, she might return for midterms. ;) haha. i literally chuckled. the word chuckle makes me think of HHD. speaking of which, I wonder where that hooligan has gone. :)

Wow. I was surprised to come back on here and see so many responses. I had searched legacy before and hadn't found a clear answer, hence my post. Thank you for the great explanations.
