Legal Internships in Manhattan?!?

I understand that only being a sophomore in college does not land you very many opportunities for legal internships. But I have hope that there are some out there for me for this summer!

Does anyone know any firms or links that can help me in my search for a legal internship (obv. ones that aren't just looking for law students, which unfortunately seem to be the majority of my search results). But more particularly law firms in Manhattan or in the Albany, NY area??

Thank you!!

I heard that Balestriere Lanza PLLC is looking for interns. I’m not sure how you apply though. David Polk was recruiting at the Ivies in the fall for interns; I’m not sure if they are still accepting applications. Both these opportunities are in Manhattan. So, there are internships in the field of law in Manhattan, even for rising juniors. Good luck.

You could always look for government internships if you can’t find a firm that will accept undergraduates.

What government internships do you suggest? I am having a tough time finding openings.

If you’re looking for strictly law, in the sense of trial law, I’m sure there are openings at the attorney general’s office or the prosecutor’s office. Just call them up and ask.

if you’ve any interest in being a paralegal for a couple of years between college and law school, check out Wachtell. It does require a commitment, though…
