Details for previous years: Profile[/url”>http://www.lehigh.edu/~oir/profiles/profile.htm]Profile

2005: 41%
2005: 39%
2007: 32%
2008: 28%
2009: 33%
2010: 38%
2011: 33%

It was listed as 33% for USNEWS rankings last year? Can someone explain to me as to why Lehigh is dropping in the USNEWS rankings though, was not Lehigh 31 at one point, but not 37th?

the 33% was for the class entering Fall 2009. The 38% was for fall 2010.

the USNWR rankings are based on many factors, including selectivity, faculty resources, financial resourse and annual giving, as well as 6 year graduation rates…

Lehigh’s faculty resources, particularly classes under 20 students and classes with greater than 50 students tends to be rather weak, as is its 86% 6 year graduation rates. These results are typical of engineering heavy institutions.

the class of 2013’s CR SAT range of 580-630 didn’t help much either, as did the low 22% alumni giving rate.

the following is where Lehigh ranked v. the National Research Universities in several categories for the latest USNWR rankings which resulted in the #37 overall ranking:

34 - Graduation and Retention Rank

30 - Faculty and Resources Rank

27 - Student Selectivity Rank

52 - Financial Resources Rank

37 - Alumni Giving Rank

and it had an Undergraduate Academic Reputation Index of 69, which probably hurt the most. This was determined from a combination of the Peer Assessment score of 3.2/5.0 and High School Counselor score of 3.9/5.0.

USNWR rankings of Lehigh through the years:

ranged from from #32 (1997 and 2006) to #40 (2003) during the 1996-2010 period

*correction, the following is the correct figure:

the class of 2013’s CR SAT range of 590-630 didn’t help much either, as did the low 22% alumni giving rate.

Interesting that Lehigh received 1200 more applications this year , yet accepted 100 less students. They must be anticipating a higher yield , did they take more ED applicants?
Did the over enroll last year?
