Hello, I am currently a freshman at Lehigh University and know I am on a pre-law track and want to go to a top 20 law school. My high school GPA wasn't great (a little above 3.4) but I'm doing well at Lehigh and currently have around a 3.75-3.8 and will try to keep it above this from now on. I'm kind of frustrated by Lehigh's lack of diversity and the heavy influence of greek life here, plus the sub-par location. I want something more diverse, more urban, and a little bigger and think BU is a good fit. Do you think I can still get into a good law school from BU? Do you think I could get into a better school like UPenn, Columbia, or Georgetown as a transfer?

Also… if anyone has any insight into the life of a transfer student (making friends, adjusting, etc.) at BU or any college, please share!

…I am actually applying for transfer to Lehigh…you are giving me second thoughts…haha…
Anyways, I think your college GPA is great, esp. from a school like Lehigh! If you want to transfer, definitely go for it. If you don’t make it, you would still have two more chances to apply. Considering that this was your first semester though, you will probably have a better chance at those top 20 schools if you maintain that GPA for one or two more semesters.
Also, one thing that is well-known about BU’s grading is grade deflation. So that could affect your GPA and your chance of going to law school.
