Hi everyone! I’ve been accepted to both Bucknell and Lehigh as a Chemistry major, and I’m having difficulties deciding where to accept. I was unable to visit either campus due to the virus, but I’m getting the overall vibe that Bucknell is more secluded than Lehigh; other than that, they seem incredibly similar. Could any current students of either school/anyone in general help?
Both are great schools, similar campus life, etc. I think Bucknell is a little more selective, while Lehigh is a little more well known. Both are pretty preppy.
It’s a common cross comparison each year. I would check out some older threads.
@pandagirl567 - Bucknell student here. Can’t speak to its Chemistry program but all science facilities including labs are top notch. I think both schools have a similar social vibe filled with happy students. Bucknell has a great balance of academics and play. We grind during the week including Sunday and we play Friday & Saturday but the partying is overblown in my opinion.
I love my classes, classmates and professors. We are a small school but I am always meeting new people who are friendly, fun, nice and smart. The location doesn’t bother me. Its beautiful and quite honestly I am so busy that I don’t have time to even think about it. The workload is significant but manageable mostly bc everyone is serious about it and the professors are passionate in & out of the classroom. I am sure Lehigh is similar. Go where you feel most comfortable. You can’t go wrong at either place.
Good luck and PM me if you have any specific questions.
