Length of ALL Essays??

<p>So, here's what I'm pretty sure I know: </p>

<li><p>COMMON APP ESSAY</p>

<pre><code> *The short answer essay should be around 150 words or less.

   *The personal essay should be around 500-700 words even though the limit is 1800 words.

<li><p>STANFORD SUPPLEMENT ESSAYS</p>

<pre><code> Here is what I'm confused about; there are 3 supplement essays. "What makes Stanford a good place fore you...." blah blah blah. In the box for submission, there is a character limit of 1800 words.

How long should THAT essay be? Also around 500-700 words??

<pre><code> P.S. I know a lot of ppl are going to tell me, "Oh, as long as the essay is good, make it whatever length you want." But from a realistic perspective, the college admission team is not going to be happy reading an extremely long essay. 

               Could someone throw out a range for me? Thanks!

<p>no the supplement essays have a 1800 CHARACTER limit. so thats almost a page. spaces included.</p>

<p>its about 280-320 words depending.
the box physically will not let you copy/paste something longer than 1800 characters
and remember that spaces are included!</p>

<p>I’ve copy+pasted things longer than 1800 characters. I get a “-xxx” characters though, and I doubt it’d let you submit it.</p>

<p>My essays range from 270-350 words.</p>
