Stanford Supplement Essay Length?

Well, the prompt says the responses should be at least 250 words, which is the same as the Common Application Essays' minimum length. Does that mean I should aim for a similar length with each of the so-called 'short' essays? Or should I actually cap it at 250 words?

^If I remember correctly, there’s also a strict character limit for each Stanford short essay (~1800 characters including spaces). The ideal essay length should be between 250 words and that 1800 character restriction).

Good luck w/ your essays. :)

*Also, I think 250 words for the CommonApp essay may be a bit short. Most are usually around 500-750 words in length.

hi, is the stanford supplement already up on the website? i couldn’t seem to find it on the commonapp supplements link?

^ yup, it’s already up. if you’ve already added Stanford in “my colleges” then it should bring it up if you just click on Stanford Supplement.

250 words is definitely too short for your commonapp essay. You can’t say much about yourself in 250 words. I can’t remember how long my supplement essay was but I remember having to shorten mine to fit within the character limit.
