Length of Essays

<p>I'm writing three essays for my application to the University of Michigan and I'm strugling with the length of them. My 500 word essay is currently at 624 and one of my 250 word essays is at 289. Will this really affect anything when it comes to reviewing the application?
(I am working on trimming these down a bit)</p>

<p>I think it’s fine because it’s in the same range. They don’t do word count or anything and they understand.</p>
