<p>How long is your supplement essay? Right now mine is around 400 words. One of my teachers told me that is too long, but my GC said it's too short...any advice? The actual supplement doesn't give guidelines or anything, so I figured I'd see what everyone thought.</p>

The Why NU one mine is about 620 give or take.</p>
<p>The reseach supplement I included two documents, totaling about 800 words.</p>
<p>The Why NU one. I finished mine and it’s around 650 words, so I guess it’s a bit of a relief to hear yours is around the same length.</p>
<p>Mine was about 400, which is good enough.</p>
<p>Mine’s 950, but everything that I said was needed and wasn’t unnecessary fluff. If yours is full of what you want to say where it is, leave it at that because if you start adding simply for the sake of lengthening it, that will be obvious.</p>
<p>Less is more in most cases…I would keep the Why NU essay to less than one page. Admission officers have to read several thousand files in total. Imagine their workload if everyone wrote a couple pages on each response. As for research, NU is looking for an abstract or a summary. Again one page or less would be appropriate, as abstracts or summaries for even the most detailed research projects can be written in two to three paragraphs.</p>
