Let's be honest

I am currently attending a Community College in SoCal. If by the end of two years I have a GPA of 3.5 would I be able to transfer to UCLA (Bus Econ.) If not, what's the minimum GPA I should have in even considering to transfer to UCLA?

Also, what GPA should I shoot for USC's Business major?

Average gpa for bus econ admits is 3.8 at ucla. Its an impacted major, so its pretty competitive. I think you should aim for at least a 3.8. I don't think a 3.5 is enough unless your a super applicant.

Super applicant meaning involvement in a lot of clubs? What exactly qualifies an applicant as a "super" applicant? I know I will be part of the honors program at my community college, but what else do you recommend me to be a part of?

Also, do u know what my chances are to get into USC (business) with a 3.5?

Since they are going to admit many people with a 3.8+ gpa, then you should try to make yourself stand out as much as possible with a 3.5. If this major wasn't impacted you might have a better chance. Are you in TAP at your cc? TAP will help you, but is it enough to win an applicant with a 3.5 i do not know. Finish IGETC if you can because they give you points for completing it. Finish all your major requirements. Have killer essays and have great ec acitivities (other than clubs or the usual activities maybe try finding something unique if you can, i.e interning for a known company...i don't know, i'm not a business major). As you haven't finished your 2 years at cc yet, aim for a 3.8+ gpa. It's probably not that easy because i am struggling to get that gpa at a cc...sigh. Yea, I know my answers are a bunch of cliches but i hope this helps answer some of your questions. I think the whole process is a game of chance. Who knows you might be one of the few who will get in with a 3.5. As for usc, i am not too familar with how they review business majors applicants. But i would think they want students with high gpa, good ecs, killer essays etc sinces business is such a popular major.

I would say to aim for a 3.8 for USC too.
