Bump bump… early action results are coming out soon!

-UCBerkeley match
-Duke high reach
-Carnegie Mellon match
-Caltech match
-Cornell high reach
-UChicago match

Everyone says the same things about the same other Ivies HYPU. Good luck!

Nice to meet another person from Moco (and yes, I can guess your high school).

HYPSM - Impossible to predict. Don’t bother trying to categorize them as high reach, low reach, etc. They are crapshoots for 99.999% of asian applicants.
Columbia - High reach given that you didn’t apply ED.
Caltech - Mid to high reach, but better chances than Columbia. Being a girl really helps when you apply to Caltech.
UPenn (assuming CAS), Duke, UChicago - Mid reach, but definitely possible given your stats. Your essays will REALLY matter at UChicago, so keep that in mind.
Cornell - Low reach, but again your chances are really good.
Carnegie Mellon (assuming MCS) - Low match
UC Berkley - Almost a safety.
UMD - Safety^(10). You could get into UMD without writing any essays (someone at my high school actually did that w/ much worse stats that you).

@sanguinee Thank you! T-8 days until EA results come out… nervous!
@FateGoneAwry Yeah, gotta love crapshoots… Columbia wise, I didn’t want to place all my bets there, because it doesn’t have the best program/s in what I want to do, so I didn’t want to commit there ED. Oh gosh I am being swamped in essays… Thank you though! :)

scores pretty decent,
Yale results out in 6 days! :P

HYPSM and their stupid admissions are impossible to predict, but you have a good a shot as anyone else. All you can do now is work on the essays.

Matches(high to low)
U-Chicago
Columbia (dat Y&G swag helps)
Cornell
UPenn
Duke
Caltech

Easy:
UCBerkeley
Carnegie Mellon

Too easy:
UMDCP

Wow, incredible stats, really impressive! I think you are in at CMU, Cornell, UMD, Ppenn, UCBerkely, and UChicago. The other schools I think you are an extremely competitive applicant, but it’s almost impossible to say. Whatever happens, my guess is that you’ll get into over half of these schools, as long as your essays were interesting and your recs were good. Good luck! :)

@Ambience Thank you! Definitely working on the essays!

@darabaldwin Thank you! Gahh early action decisions come out Friday, and I’m really really nervous ><
