SCHOOLS:
-Harvard
-Yale
-Princeton
-Stanford
-MIT
-Columbia
-UPenn
-UCBerkeley
-Duke
-Carnegie Mellon
-Caltech
-Cornell
-UMDCP
-UChicago

I could see you getting admitted into any of those schools, but remember, you will be competing with people who have more… interesting EC’s. For example, those people who invent and market their own products. Your dad’s med school won’t help… not that you really need the help anyway - you’re in a magnet school, and doing well. On a side note, what does UMDCP stand for? But besides that, you could make any of those schools.

I am an Asian male and I attended an elite HS.
Your courses are similar to mine but I had better numbers than yours.
ECs are “about same”: Some awards but no major ones…

But, you are a STEM (I assume) female, so…

-Harvard: Reach SCEA or RD
-Yale: Reach SCEA or RD
-Princeton: Reach SCEA or RD
-Stanford: Reach REA or RD
-MIT: Reach EA or RD
-Columbia: Reach RD
-UPenn: Low Reach RD
-UCBerkeley: In
-Duke: Sloid chances but low reach
-Carnegie Mellon: very good chances
-Caltech: Reach EA or RD
-Cornell: Solid chances
-UMDCP: No idea
-UChicago: Solid chances EA Reach RD

STEM female will help you and you will get into some great colleges.
Pray!

I think you’re in at Duke, CMU, Cornell, and UMD.

She is not in at Duke. She has solid chances.

@aggrandized Thank you! Yeah, I know my EC’s are kind of weak, and my scores could be better >< I’m hoping that my science creds show… Haha, UMDCP stands for University of Maryland, College Park (I’m instate)

@20more Definitely praying… UMDCP=University of Maryland, College Park (I’m instate) and I’m kind of hoping my science credentials show ._.

@jaythomas Thank you :)

Wow, I think you have a good chance at all of your schools! Your sat score is amazing (especially as a sophomore), good gpa w/challenging classes, and your ECs look really strong to me. I’d say it all just depends on your essays and luck… But I definitely see you getting into at least a couple of these top schools. There aren’t any weaknesses in your app and some of your ECs really stand out, like the science organization and your research. Good luck!

@OdetteRose Thanks! I feel like my sat2 scores are a bit low when compared to the rest of the people on this site though >< Yay… luck…

Where did you apply early? Your stats are amazing, but so many of those schools are complete guesses (mostly Harvard/Yale etc.). You should be good for Penn, Cornell, Chicago, UMD, Carnegie Mellon, and Duke. Otherwise I really can’t tell you. Berkeley should want you, but you never know. Good luck!! I’m assuming you want to go for engineering, so being a girl should push your apps up some.

PS. I’m so jealous that you have analytical and p-chem classes in high school…

@cassqui I applied to Yale early, but my stats are thoroughly meh compared to a lot of other people applying to Yale :(. Also, I’m not applying for engineering, just bio/biochem/biomed type majors. Thank you though!

PS. I know, we also have Orgo! Favorite part about being at a magnet school? The science classes :)

honestly why are you here lol. You have the greatest possible chances of any of the schools, so write awesome essays. If you apply to all of those schools, I would seriously be surprised if you didn’t get accepted to at least one of them

C’mon… do you really need this thread?Unfortunately, it’s hard to predict, but IMO u have huge chances for a slam-dunk!!! at least, if u don’t get in, i sure dont have any chance…

@oohtobeagooner But I feel like I’m just the typical tryhard Asian girl on paper >_> I don’t know if it helps, AT ALL. But thank you anyways

@college134nj Insecurities increase exponentially every day it gets closer to application/decision day :frowning: But thanks

I think you really have good chances at all of these schools. Unfortunately, all of the applicants look like you so your essays really have to be spectacular as well as your (possible) interviews. It’s there where you can really say unique things and write your ticket to whatever school you want to go to. Remember that almost everyone applying can do the work, the adcoms have to move onto what kind of person you are and come across as OUTSIDE of your scores to determine if you would be a great contribution to their school. Good luck hope you get into Yale! My grandma works there and knows it’s a great school!

I think your ecs are very good. You have a lot of variety in what you do. Art+sports+science is a good combo. Perhaps in an essay you could highlight that.
Honestly, at some point everyone is qualified. You just have to hope you’re what they’re looking for.
Best of luck!

yeah you seem to have very good chances of getting into most of those schools

-Harvard Reach for everyone regardless of their qualifications.
-Yale "
-Princeton "
-Stanford "
-MIT "
-Columbia Low reach (convince them you will attend if admitted)
-UPenn High match (reach for wharton)
-UCBerkeley In
-Duke Low reach
-Carnegie Mellon In
-Caltech Low reach
-Cornell In
-UMDCP
-UChicago High Match (convince them that you will attend if admitted)!

@vandygirl330 Thank you! Yeah, the essays are burying me right now :frowning: I’m hoping that some place will want me to contribute to their school!

@twinsarebetter Thanks, but it seems like a lot of schools want to see really focused passion but… but I like doing a lot of things :frowning:
@alexiswong Thank you!
@kenyanpride Ooh that’s going to be some interesting interviews… but thank you! :)
