Thanks a lot guys; I can't wait to see what you all think!

Your academics/tests are all solid and barely improvable. It’s really going to come down to how you sell yourself and your ECs in your application essays. I would try to emphasize the depth of your activities - maybe public speaking in your case (Model UN/Debate). For HYP, it’s honestly going to be down to luck. I don’t think anyone can accurately predict that, but you’re certainly qualified to be admitted. I think your chance of being admitted to Penn, Duke, Chicago, and Northwestern is very reasonable, and I don’t know much about UVA or W&M.

If you have time, please give my chance thread a look over. =)

like limdelbarton said, your objective stuff is pretty much perfect. the deciding factor is really going to be your essays and all the other subjective stuff in your application.

anyway, as for chances:

HYP- definitely qualified for admission, but who knows with these schools?
UVA- low match/safety
W&M- not really sure, sorry.
Duke- high match
Northwestern- high mach
Chicago- high match
Upenn- low-mid reach

btw, do you happen to go to langley or tj? haha, just guesses based on “newsweek elite public high school.”

You look really well qualified for al of the schools you’re looking at! I have no doubt that you’ll get into UVA, William and Mary, Northwestern, Chicago, and Duke! Good luck!!

Anybody else have thoughts?

bump 10char

Most of these schools, as you know, are hard to predict and you’re going to have to sell yourself HARD for HYP etc. How can you stand out over all the other “perfect score” applicants?

Also, this may sound bad, but as an Indian male you’re at a slight disadvantage. There’s a ton of Indian males with perfect/near perfect scores and math/science club experience, but few (for example) female Hispanic students with 2300s and a demonstrated success in (say) visual art. I’d bet to say HYP and other similar schools would pick the female Hispanic student over you, even though she had lower scores.

How are you different/better than other similar applicants? Think about that and really try to show your personality in your essays. Good luck! I think you’ll get into some great schools either way :)

Zelda, would my achievements/leadership in Model UN/Debate/FBLA help distinguish me form other Indian males? I think my essay topic is solid (talks about my experience with meaningful community service rather than with EC’s/Math/Sci related stuff).

Thanks for your candid chance though.

Maybe if you talk about a SPECIFIC (one) experience…but otherwise, that’ll still pretty general. Perhaps you should focus on one aspect of being involved in debate that made you decide to pursue your intended college focus of study?

Yeah it’s one specific community service experience. I’ll probably end up talking about Model UN or Debate and how it influenced me in the short answer section of the common app rather than the essay slot.

Your Academic Record is outstanding!, really, you have a lot going for you. I think that Harvard, Princeton, Yale are extremely unpredictable in terms of admission. I know because I have friends who have been rejected at some but accepted into other very elite schools. UVA - guaranteed admission (because you’re in state and incredibly qualified
Duke- high chances
have you thought about applying to Berkeley or Stanford. Those are very good schools as well and deserve to be in your college list.
Also, I’m curious as to what you plan on studying in college.

Chance me: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1203510-some-advice-guidance-please.html

Great chances man!

Allsham, I’ve considered both Berkely and Stanford, but I decided that the distance is too much… I want to be able to see my family haha. Also, I am intending to major in Economics.

bump 10char

wow, so many solid ECs. your ECs show depth as well as breadth, which is the best possible combination. solid academics too (SAT monster?) you’d probably have no problem for UVA, Duke, Northwestern, W&M, and Chicago. HYP may be a reach but again no one can predict for those. you’d still have pretty good chances at thoses anyways.

chance me back?

Yeah I can chance you back. Thanks, man.

You might as well take Math II… I’m pretty sure it’s almost standard for ivy-league applicants to take.

Yeah, that’s why I was heavily considering it. It’s just that I have the “required” SAT 2’s, and anything else would just be extraneous. Seeing as how I have perfect scores on my other ones, I thought that an additional one would make no difference.

bump 10char

Wow pretty amazing stats!ahaha-okay here we go.
Harvard, Yale, Princeton-crapshoots for everyone
UVA, W&M-Pretty comfortably in since you are in-state
Duke-High Match/Low Reach
Northwestern-Match/High Match
Chicago-High Match
Upenn-Low Reach
