Let's start a place for class of 2020 MIT hopefuls or something!

In my opinion, Caltech is not nearly as holistic as MIT, so don’t despair about not getting into Caltech! @Ahmad12345

Well, here’s hoping. Hey, any idea when Harvey Mudd, Stanford and the Ivies release their decisions?

I know that the Ivies release on Ivy Day, when exactly is that btw?

March 31. Not sure about Stanford and Mudd. I applied to Mudd but they haven’t said yet.

Stanford is by April 1st. I’ve been hearing March 25 but no one is positive.

Hi Guys, Just a quick question:

Do schools like MIT follow acceptances with an email? For example if I choose not to check my admissions decision when it’s posted but I am accepted, would I receive an email a few days later about my acceptance.

Waitlisted at caltech, time for MIT!

Is it true that the acceptance rate for deferred students is higher in the RD pool?

Slightly higher yeah. I mean because in the EA pool and the RD pool there are just obvious rejects. Getting through EA with a deferral means you’re not an obvious reject. If that makes sense. I hope I wasn’t too blunt.

For what it’s worth, I was deferred.

@tutututututuru No, that is a sensible answer. I’m just trying to ask aimless questions in an aimless attempt to console myself as the inevitable rejection comes.

I know what you mean. I’m trying not to think about it, but look what website I’m on.

Okay, is a Caltech waitlist a good sign here?

Getting accepted or rejected or waitlisted from one school has no bearing on your results at another school.

That said, it means you’re a viable candidate and a strong applicant in the eyes of Caltech, so you should be proud of that. And if Caltech thinks you’re good, odds are other schools will as well.

@tutututututuru Is your name a reference to Steins; Gate?

Yeah! Your name looks familiar too. What’s it from?

LOL. That is just awesome. (Mine’s from One Piece.)

Guys here is a count down

Why can’t it be Tau Time a.m. LOL

One day and some hours left…any good advice to make the time pass easier?

@dianaDM, just try and do things that can get your mind off of it… Hang out with your friends, go bowling, binge watch your favorite Netflix shows :stuck_out_tongue:
Good luck with your decision tomorrow
