Let's start a place for class of 2020 MIT hopefuls or something!

especially internationals since is the first time

I’m international too and I’m applying. Sending my application right now!!!

I will too later tonight. Good luck

How many non-scholaristic distinction have you wrote? It is ok if have just one?

Hey! An International EAer here. I’m sending my ACT and SAT subject test scores today, and I was wondering whether I should rush report them or not. Is it okay if MIT receives the scores after Nov. 1?

I’m from Africa.
My SAT score is whack although i have a 750+ in Math and a 10 in the essay.
I have two 800s in the subject tests and four other 750+ scores.
I’m the president of an engineering society at our school. I’m also the mathletes captain and math tutor.
My big hook is most probably that i’m a urm.
P.s. Make friends with 1 of the counselors.

@HYPSM2020 when you say you are from Africa you mean you are going to school in Africa? Applying as international os US?

So nervous how many are applying EA to MITa.

Yeah, EA isn’t happening. I’m doing regular.

@Hermit9 wow why is that??

i’m applying early! sent everything in on thursday, finally

does anyone know which day decisions come out?

@orfromin I would’ve been pressed to complete my remaining essays, maker portfolio, and athletics form. Not to mention my teacher recs must be sent through the school (and I’m not asking my EC to spend their weekend compensating for my indolence). I’m not even sure my transcript would’ve arrived on time.

Hey! I am applying early action to MIT as well. SAT: 2220 (780 M, 770 CR, 670 W) Math II: 710 Chemistry: 710 (Very concerned about both of these) I am being recruited for lacrosse and have a full NROTC scholarship to MIT so I am hoping those will both help me. I am a full IB student with my predicted scores all at 7 or 6. I am 9’th in my class with a GPA of 4.54 out of 5. I am the VP of NHS, Captain of the lacrosse team, an Eagle Scout, founder of a service organization, restoring a classic car, etc… I feel my interview went very well and it lasted about an hour and fifteen minutes. I thought I had essays that were as good as they could be in one hundred words or so and all of the people who gave me recs like me quite a bit. MIT is my dream/reach school but seeing how qualified people are worries me.

@Hermit9 oh i see… best of luck to you btw!

@yaytrees if I’m not wrong, I see somewhere in the blog that the decision came out around 16 Dec

@mahkcots You got great stats man, you shouldn’t be worry. We’re on this together

@yaytrees I think it comes out around December 15 or sth.

How badly does everyone want to go to MIT?

Since this thread seems to primarily be the semi-blind leading the blind, if you want varied opinions and opinions from current mit students, request to join the “MIT Class of 2020 Applicants” group on Facebook.

@qwerytiop assumes a remarkable amount of definite knowledge about the application process at MIT considering he is applying as well. Remember, he’s roughly as “blind” as most other applicants.

@PurePhysics I assume the blogs are pretty accurate. Otherwise, yea.

@qwerytiop Fair enough, but you can see how this thread would look to a third party aha
