So I just got a letter from UMich about my senior year grades. I went from four A's, one C and a B+ first quarter to four B's, a C and a C+ for final grades. No displinary problems or anything. They ask for an explanation. Anyone have any thoughts on this, especially what % actually get rescinded, my danger, etc.?

Well i think if u give em a reasonable reason why ur grades slipped so much itll be fine. I mean u got NO A's and 2 C's...was it just plain old slacking off or what?

wow i'm scared now...
i think at the campus day, the lady said that if you get 3+ C's, a D, or an F, they send you a letter...
i'm still scared though, i got two C's, 3 A's and a B first semester, then 3 B's and 2 A's... except the A was in orchestra =/ and an A in AP English.

Am I in danger of a letter also??? what do you think?
since at campus day they said 3+ C's get letters, i won't get one.. right?

I really don't know. I mean, I was pretty suprised to get it. I don't have a really good excuse like a car accident or anything. I just worked a lot and did a bunch of reading. I think I'll send a letter saying that, and have my boss send one. Thoughts?

well... at campus day she said three or more C's will get letters, and you got exactly three C's... so that's probably why. yes, having your boss send a letter would probably help a lot...

i'm afraid i'm in danger of a letter too... because i was awfully close to getting three c's, but..

I only got two C's for final grades... What else did she say at Campus Day? That is what they send letters for, but what do they rescind for?

final grades... what do you mean final grades? you say you got a C for first quarter...? they probably saw that too...

Oh, I was under the impression that they just looked at year-end grades, not just the number of C's on the transcript. Still, I did have quite a drop from the senior grades they saw (first quarter), so thats what may have triggered it.

where do you live?
what were your stats like? were you somewhat borderline?

NO WAY will you get revoked. I heard from a reliable source that out of the thousands of incoming students last year, they only revoked the admission of 15. You have to get D's and/or F's... Just send them something explaining why you think they dropped and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the reassurance. Alexandre, you seem to know what's going on. Can you give me any help here?
