Did anyone else get a personalized letter from a professor? I got one from a Russian lit professor, telling me that he loved my essays and congratulating me on my Likely. He also gave me his email and said to contact him if I had any questions. Did anyone else get something like this?
My D is in the RD pool so we haven’t gotten anything, however, those accepted will likely get a few letters or postcards between now and May 1–from alum neighbors you didn’t know went there, from current students, from professors, etc. It’s on a volunteer basis so YMMV depending on who they find close to you or in your major. It’s quite a nice welcome.
Also, my D’s roommate is from Canada and when she got there her door had been decorated a little by some of the other Canadians–so I think internationals get some special welcoming treatments too.
Yes, but I would have liked a letter from a prof better …
I got one from an English professor!
It said “I’m a professor in the English department of Wellesley College. Congratulations on your “Likely” Admissions note. I’ve been asked to reach out to some of the prospective students on the “Likely” list. I read your application essay and found it compelling, and I want you to know that I’m available if you have any questions about courses or about any other aspect of the college.”
@FutureWordsmith if your letter is from the professor with the initials TPH, consider yourself in great company. If you go to Wellesley and take Russian lit with him, he will change your life. Seriously.
