Letter from Colgate

ok well apparently we will have to wait to receive the letter and not the e mail maybe the person I talked to in the office was not really sure

anybody got the e mail ?

No Email Yet…

Nope, they really don’t send emails.

Maybe the person on the phone was confused with all the busy-ness and mails getting sent and whatknot? Perhaps it’s coming FedEx which is still not that bad. :)

FedEx is not like DHL?
USC uses DHL,which will send email notification.

wth! Russian postal serice works so bad that I’ll probably get the decision in like a month :(

For Korea, it takes 2 weeks… but when Colgate usually sends mail, do they use FedEx? I was hoping that FedEx was faster.

Fedex is alot faster. i live in china and it took 3 days for me to get my acceptance letter and FA package…

Thanks, Cdld2008!

And Congrats on your acceptance! :)

Did you guys check the status website thing…? And i think they only Fed-Ex acceptances… I THINK… Oh Portugese Ninja TOEFLs a cakewalk. Just needs a whole lot of patience during the test. I lost 10 Marks cos of that =(

Does everyone have this in their application status:

“We appreciate the contact we have had with you through your college search. We understand that you are eager to learn the outcome of your application. The application review process for first-year admission is now complete. We plan to communicate our admission decisions on or about March 24. Please note we do not give out decisions over the phone. We thank you again for your interest in Colgate and give you our best wishes for your college career.”

It sounds a bit like rejection letter…

Yeah, that’s what mine says, but I think everyone has that on their status. No worries, Ecthelion. :)

Has anyone here applied ED and NOT received the packet because it got lost? Did you email the office and receive the decision then?
Because I have not received anything from colleges ever since last November:( And I don’t think any intl mail will ever reach my house again:(

Where do you live, Playaamy?

I’m international, too, and the last mail I received was in late January, but the card was postmarked JAN 12th. I think you should contact the post office of your region or the admissions office of your schools.

I received the last letter (from Colgate btw) couple of days ago and guess what was the date on it? February, 12th! Hope, DHL or whatever they are sending decision out with works muuuuch faster.

I got that late too, I don’t think they were actually sent earlier.

Mine says the same thing too, Ecthelion.
I am positive that everyone’s log in says this now.
The thing that worries me is that I did not get a letter similar to the one posted at the very beginning of this thread… so I’m pretty convinced that I am not getting in to Colgate.

They have never sent emails in the past, even to internationals, though they do use FedEx because otherwise it can take weeks to reach some in other countries. It’s possible that they have student employees answering the phones who don’t know the policy, or that they changed to emailing internationals just this year, but I don’t think the latter is likely (or fair to domestic students who have to wait up to a week!).

Letters are out, got mine thursday (I live really close to the school).
