I got a latter fron NYU in the mail today. It was postmarked the 6th. And it basically says, "thank you for submitting you application for admission to New York University...they're gonna do a prelimenary review to make sure they have everything. if io havent semnt everything do so now. then it has important information about me at the bottom? Stuff like name, social security number, NYU id, school and major. Basically...has anyone else gotten this letter? What the hell does it mean? And...is it a confirmation letter? I got a confirmation e-mail november 13 ... this makes me a bit worried. was it a mistake or something? I thought I was rejected after seeing a small envelope on the table, hahahaha. But yeah if anyone knows anything, let me know.

I'm pretty sure that's just a really late confirmation.. That was supposed to get to you a while ago, mine never came and I called NYU to get my NYU id number and all that stuff, god I hope i don't get that too, i'll be freaked out by the thin envelope.

i had my app. postmarked by nov. 1 (i know it was late but my comp. gave me mad problems). i figured i got the confirmation letter so late b/c i did a paper application. hopefully thats the reason why and not because i was rejected or something like that..

Wow, we as a community are probably THE most paranoid, superstitious bunch of people alive, haha. The admissions officer that cruises this forum (NYUUGADMISSIONS is his screen name i believe) must get a kick out of us thinking the stupidest smallest little details mean something about our admissions status.

BTW I consider myself to be among the paranoid/superstitious group as well.
