i think so........sigh. somebody confirm this please? thanksss

The NYU admissions site says very clearly that decisions will be mailed during the last week of March in order to arrive on or before April 1. I read that as saying that letters can be expected at any time prior to 4/1. Best of luck to you!

what about the national merit e-mail? i applied to cas, but never received the nmf e-mail. i was a semi-finalist, too.

i know but so many people are getting those likely letters…

i was told by admissions another batch of likely letters went out this week and would arrive most likely by the end of this week. NOT everyone gets an invite but that doesn’t mean you haven’t been accepted, they can only invite so many people, i was told it was by random. You have no decision really until around april 1 dont lose hope:) good luck

^ oh from who?

the likely letters? i think thats what you mean if not sorry for the ramble. there for different events held in april from the schools in NYU some get invited some don’t doesn’t mean you arent accepted.

Really? They don’t send invitations to everyone?
I guess there’s some hope now… but I’m still very skeptical.

Oh and a question: will we have to wait for actual letters, or will there be any place to check our admission status online? I presume not, considering there’s been nothing so far to check with…

SBtester: we have to wait for the letter via snail mail :[ it sucks that NYU doesn’t just let us view the decision online, but oh well!

yea i know…did nyu ever mention when will we get our decisions by? and only mail?

i think i like mail better than checking online…i hate pressing the buttons on the keyboard. drives me crazyyy

^Their website said the official letters of acceptance/rejection/waitlist will be mailed out tomorrow (Friday) and should arrive on or around April 1st. Some people might even receive theirs nearly a week after April 1st (but if you’re waiting longer than that, I’d call the admissions office and ask). And yes, only by mail (unfortunately).

i live REALLLYYY really close to NYU…in jersey. like 20 minute drive maybe? should that take like one day for me to receive the letter?

yeah as I posted in another thread, I think we’ll get it Saturday or Monday (for those of us that live in NNJ).

Does the acceptance from NYU come in a big packet or just a legal sized envelope?

I got my acceptance in a small envelope that said Congratulations, Join Us in the front. However, I still have yet to get my admissions package with financial aid, etc.

Don’t lose hope! Until you get the letter, you don’t know if you got in or not! It’s not worth getting worked up about until you know what happens. Good luck to all!

that’s just the likely letter right?

nJ718: I believe the admissions package is SUPPOSED to come in a big envelope or maybe even a package, but I’m not sure about that.

aylin8: “my acceptance in a small envelope” - are you talking about the invitation to April event(s)? (which is basically the likely letter)

you guys should just free your minds from anticipating this letter…which might not even come. The best thing is to just enjoy the last moments of your high school career and let the letters be…like me.

this is what my letter said:

Congratulations! I am very pleased to inform you that your offer of admission letter to New York University’s College of Arts and Science is on its way to you. On behalf of President John Sexton and the faculty and staff of the College, I warmly welcome you to the class of 2013.

I would like to personally invite you and your parents to join us on ____ for the College of Arts and Science Admitted Student Program at our campus in Washington Square.

(Here was just info about reserving a spot in the admitted student day)

Congratulations once again. I look forward to seeing you soon!

Hope this helps!
