I was planning on writing a LOCI for Boston College until I stumbled upon this:

“Students are not encouraged to send additional letters of recommendation or make calls to the institution to check on their waiting list status.”

Would it be appropriate to still send in a brief LOCI? What have previous waitlisters done to increase their chances of being accepted? Tips and advice would be appreciated.

At this point, the most important steps to take are:

1: Send a brief one page LOCI from you. Include any relevant new information about your status. Do not include new letters of recommendations or reiterate information that is already in your application.

2: Focus on your “plan B” school. The odds of getting off a wait-list are very low and the factors are nothing you have any control over.

Definitely send a LOCI, address it to the Rep who signed your decision letter; include any new senior awards Any updated test scores?. Mail it quickly, since some schools start going to the WL the first week in May.
