<p>So, my principal wants to write me a letter of rec through the common app. But when I try to invite him, it says "Counselor" or "Teacher." Which one is the principal? If he is a teacher, should the subject area be "Other?"</p>
<p>OR do i have to send the letter as supplementary?</p>

<p>I think you will probably be fine adding him as either but personally I would use teacher. He will be able to upload his letter and it will attach just as if he is a teacher. I think the counselor forms ask way more (gpa, rank, et.) And I would use “other” for subject area unless he teaches a course at the school but then again, if he has never taught you in a class - I would use “other”.</p>
<p>You can only have one counselor on your list. So if you already asked your guidance counselor to write the “School Report,” then your principal counts as a teacher or an outside source.</p>
