Letter of Rec ?

Hi. So recently my recommender showed me the letter of rec he wrote for me. He’s my private art teacher, and he teaches out of his home. It was a lovely letter and I’m very flattered but I noticed he didn’t write it on letterhead (I don’t think he has one) and didn’t mention that he taught from his home. However, he did include the address of his home.

Will this raise red flags for colleges? It’s 100% authentic, but I’m worried how it might look to outsiders. Should I be worried?

Have him send it to your guidance counselor to be forwarded.

That’s what I did with the son of a friend I’ve tutored. Having it some through the guidance office kind of gives their stamp of approval.

It won’t raise red flags as long as the contents are plausible. Plus if any addit info is needed, the college will simply call him. You’re fine.

But bjkmom’s idea has merit if you’re truly worried.
