<p>No. Clemson application does not include letters of rec.</p>
<p>Yes, they are not required, but admission has become increasingly selective the last few years, and a good letter (or 2) cannot hurt. The personal statement is also optional, but since you probably have to write one for a nother school anyway, you may as well copy and paste (be sure to change all references to Clemson and Tigers, though :-) -- I would bet if a slot was between you and another applicant, and you had equivalent scores, ranks, etc., but the other person submitted letters and a statement, they'd go with the one who submitted more -- not simply because he/she submitted more, but they had more information on the other person on which to base a decision.</p>
