Hello! I was wondering, does U.C. Berkeley need letters of recommendation for Undergraduate admissions? If so, is that for any applicant or for specific majors, and which ones? Also, does the college require official transcripts to be sent out? Thank you, I greatly appreciate the help!

There is no place to attach a letter of rec when you apply. It is all done online. So the answer is no. Also, you submit a student provided copy of your transcript upon applying but official transcripts are only sent once/if admitted. good luck!

Yep, u only send transcripts after being admitted. As for me, I received the supplement and was asked for senior year current grades, and I was smart once upon a time and did good during senior year.

However, I don’t think letter of rec. was ever asked of me. Maybe for the supplement but i doubt it.

Good luck!

No LoRs, unless you are rejected and then subsequently decide to appeal, at which point you can send in extra materials which I think can include LoRs.

Transcripts are only if you’re among the 1% who are asked to submit it as a supplement/random check before they send out offers, or if you are accepted and decide to enroll. (if it’s later discovered that one lied on the form, then they have the right to throw one out. Not saying that you’re planning on doing that, just to explain when they’re needed (:

You know what’s really dumb? I was thinking how people could act such a way after doing community service to actually get in here, and then someone was like well people just write stuff down. and then I thought about it, and it’s true. they don’t even check. errr

Your right, they don’t check, but they do randomly check 1% percent of applicants so statistically speaking you could still lie and not get caught, but why chance it?? You might be one of the random applicants that have to get their references checked!
