My school uses a program called naviance to help students easily request letters of recs, organize their college choices, find scholarships, etc. None of the schools I am applying to require letters of recommendations, but my counselor recently e-mailed me saying that that she was concerned because i hadn't sent any requests for them...will i need letters of recs.(from teachers) for scholarships/should i just request one anyways?

That depends on the scholarship, some do and some don’t.

Your GC is correct that IF you need LORs, it’s getting late to ask teachers. However, if you don’t need LORs for either applications or scholarships, there’s no reason to have a teacher spend the time and energy on something you won’t use. Double check the websites for the colleges you’re applying to and scholarship requirements, then talk to your GC about your specific needs or lack thereof.

thank you!
