Letter of Recommendation

Ok, sorry for making so many threads about this topic. I realize it can be annoying, it's just that deadlines are approaching and I need clarification.

I asked my professors if they would write a letter of recommnedation for me and they all said yes. But they told me that I needed to provide them with infomation about myself. The semester is almost over and I want to get this out of the way as soon as possible.

My questions:

What imformation about myself do I give them.

The deadline is January 15 for all my schools, do I just tell them straight up? (I told them if they would write me a letter a few months back)

It's just that I'm so confused because all they said was, "give me the details." Gahh what exactly does that mean? SO CONFUSED!

Thanks to anyone who can clarify my questions. Much will be apprecaited.

I gave them a copy of my resume. I also diplomatically told them my reasons for transferring in the meeting.

I would meet with your professors ASAP because January 15 is soon and soon after the end of the term grading and the holidays.

I made a cover letter for my professors, explaining the reasons why I wanted to transfer, ecs i was involved with on campus, and goals I hope to achieve at my new school. I would also give them at least one month to write it, so get on that!!

i gave mine resumes, copies of my transfer essays, and sat down with them for a short meeting and told them what i wanted them to highlight in their letters about me. i told them about my career goals and tried to explain why the next school would be better for that purpose. also, put post-it notes with the due date on it. i always put the date as a week earlier than the real date just in case something happens.
