I recently asked my math and English teacher if they would write a letter of recommendation for me for my college applications. Both of them were really nice about it and agreed, except that I found out today that my English teacher is retiring this year and won't come back to teach next year.

Can he still write a letter of recommendation for me even though he's retiring? Or does he have to still teach at the school to be able to write me one? Because I feel that he does know me the best and he can definitely write me the best letter of rec.

Thanks!
