Letter Received: Spring Grades Needed to Make Decision

I applied as a transfer student from Santa Monica College. I received a letter from the admissions department yesterday. I thought it was a rejection letter because it was in a thin envelope. Much to my surprise, it was not a rejection letter and it wasn't an acceptance letter either. Rather, it was letter stating that the admissions committee needed additional information (spring grades) in order to make a decision on my application.

The question is do you think that carrying only 9 units currently (due to military obligation) will affect my admission decision. Does anybody know anybody else that has gotten this letter in a previous year? If so, did they get in?

BTW my stats include:

HS: Nothing to brag about
4 years active duty Air Force
Santa Monica College: 3.76 GPA
Roughly 45 units completed
Dean's List 3 Semesters
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
College Republicans

Completed USC writing, language, math, and each general education category that does not have to be taken at USC.

*applying as a history major

I think if you head over to the "USC transfers" thread (here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=177285) you might find some info on who's received these letters (apparently, a lot of people get spring grade requests). It's a really, really, long thread, so you might want to search for "grade request"

thank's a lot jb! i plead my case there
