Did anyone else get a letter addressed to their parents from American/an American parent saying why her daughter loved American so much and why it was a good choice? It was a really nice letter. Do you think this is a good sign? :)?!

did anyone get an email from their intended school at au..asking you to learn more about them as you await admission decisions...very warm and friendly...

guys....i dont think it means too much...lol just wait for the decision

benandjerry, I got a letter like that (snail mail.)

Yeah, I got a lot of emails and letters from AU with stuff like that about the strength of their International Program, etc. It just seems to be what they do, not really a likely letter or anything like that.

ditto, does anyone have an eye-popping fact about AU?

....outside one of the dorms... there is a tiki man....

what are you trying to say here? I mean if you want to see the rankings and the facts look online... but what do rankings and facts REALLY mean anyway?

I am currently a student at AU and I LOVE it!!! But yet again AU isn't for anyone. I'd say, come and see the school for yourself. Do an over night experience, and see if AU is the right fit for you.

If you have any questions you want me 2 answer feel free to ask away. PM me or ask em here and i'd be glad to help

I have recived lots of stuff from AU, I'm assuming it just happens like every other college. I don't really care if I get in at this point, I'm almost 100% sure I'm going to Depauw, yay lac midwest, hehe. I mostly just applied to American because I love DC.

i am only curious. i don't really care about the rankings. every school has that special something, but since you are a current student, tell me the most unique thing about american

thats SO hard to answer... becuase our campus is diverse... everyone has something about DC that they like and is speical to them. I love the personalized attention, the location, and the quality of education that I'm getting at AU that i prob wouldn't get if i went to a state school. (not that state schools = crap, but its just different)

I also love the people here. Unlike my highschool full of Cliques, the people at AU are much more more, friendly and inviting. I feel like i'm friends w/ so many people, but at the end of the day, I still have my 3 best friends who i can go to no matter what.

AU fits... i don't know what to tell you. When you get admitted and re-visit schools, you will find a school that "fits." It could be the people, the cherry blossoms (thats what drew me in!!) location, weather, profs, classes, academic programs, or that unexplaied thing that draws you in.

2nd celticdreams: yes and no...
not every school sends fun stuff to their applicants... and you never know... in dec of last year my heart was set on Binghamton. I was just about obsessed. At this pt last year, i knew Skidmore was the place for me.... and here i am @ AU. Like you never know... give AU a fair chance.. and you never know.. you may be surprised and end up in a place you NEVER expected that you would be at. I sware i never thought that i'd be at AU... and here i am... :)

good luck!!!!!

I've found that American kind of spams. Not that I don't love it, of course. In fact, I think it's pretty smart. It keeps applicants interested while telling them all of the wonderful things about AU! However, I wouldn't take this as too much of a "good" sign....I think they do it to everyone.

Just what it says above?

last year AU claimed that RD were to be sent out by April 1st. I got an e-mail from AU in the middle of March saying that I was in. Kinda spoiled the surprise becuase like April 3rd I got this HUGE package saying that I was also in.

Only got a couple of weeks left... don't worry 2 much!!!!!!!!

I got an email from the dean of my school, and I emailed him back last week!! He told me that he was impressed with my questions and to keep in touch!!!
