Hi guys
Did anyone get a little handwritten postcard looking thing in the mail recently? Mine was from someone in the admissions office and it mentioned parts of my application such as my field hockey season and the essay I wrote. I was pleasantly surprised to have received such a personable letter, did other people get them as well? If you got one, did you get notified of your admission decision yet? Just curious. Thanks!

Congratulations. I don’t mean to get your hopes up, and I didn’t get anything like that yet, but I think it is a good sign. I read a book that goes behind the scenes of an admission office and the officers only do things like that for applicants they really like. It is some universities’ unofficial way of telling you that you have been accepted.

Again, please take this with a grain of salt, as I am unsure.

I received a similar handwritten letter from the assistant director of admissions saying she enjoyed reading my application especially my essay which she called self-reflective and candid.
