A teacher of mine agreed to write a letter of recommendation for me a while ago. It still hasn't been submitted to the common app. How do I politely check in and ask how the progress is going?

It’s just that deadlines are approaching and it’s important to me to be ready to submit before the day of the deadline.

Well on common app it will tell you whether or not they started it. You can always ask the teacher after class , “Hey i know youre busy but i wanted to remind you my deadline is…” They wont find it rude because some teachers do forget and appreciate the reminder! Also, you can submit your application in and the rec letters can be submitted afterwards. It does not have to be in altogether unless the college requires it all to be sent on the deadline.

Okay, thanks!
