Letter of Recommendation

My teacher still hasn't submitted my letter of recommendation to the Common App yet (still says "Not started"). I really need to send out my applications ASAP, but can I send them even though she hasn't done it yet? Like, will she still be able to send them after I already submitted my applications?

Thank you :]

This is realllly important :x

Of course you can send in your application. You absolutely don’t have to wait for her letters of rec. And even after she’s sent her letters, it may be 2 weeks or more before the website is updated to reflect receipt - so may actually have send them in. Check with her if you are concerned.

Schools require you to get your application in by the deadline. If transcripts, test scores or rec letters come shortly thereafter, they aren’t going to hold it against you. All it does is delay the completion of your file - so you won’t get read at the beginning of the cycle. No big deal.

Thank you! I feel better now :)

You can send in your application now, don’t worry!
You should talk to your teacher asap though–I know it can be awkward to remind teachers of deadlines they have for you, but if she hasn’t started yet this close to the deadline just ask her how it’s coming along
