S22 is planning on majoring in math. Does he need to have a LOR from one of his high school math teachers? He was planning on having his AP Physics (both M and E & M) and his AP Euro teachers. His Calc 3 teacher and math club sponsor retired very suddenly after school ended and has not been responding to student emails. He is going to have a supplemental LOR from the director of MathILy that will talk about his math skills. I didn’t know if supplemental LORs are even read though.

Physics and AP Euro are fine and show a good mix of talent. The supplementary letter might be of benefit but isn’t absolutely necessary. With one kid we did find that a supplementary letter had an effect.
One STEM and one History/SS teacher is a fine mix. Physics/Calc won’t make a difference.
