Is it okay to get a letter of recommendation during sophomore year if you really like that teacher and the subject itself. I'm talking about AP Government at my school. If I do get a letter from this teacher, I'm only a sophomore and and I don't know how to ask for one in the correct manner. Please help, thanks.

You take AP Government as a sophomore? That's a senior level course for us and we're a pretty good school.

Different courses, I guess.

I would say wait.

Aw wait? It's very seldom for a teacher to like me...but okay.

Tell me about it.

That's just me. You'd have to have them write the letter then hold on to it until ED. However, you can just go back to him 6/12mo later and I guarantee he will still remember you..

How about I wait until school ends to ask? I'm not going to ask my teacher now, I'll ask towards the end of the school year before it's all over and hold on to the letter until applications?

Well, you don't "hold on to the letter." You're never supposed to touch it or see it.

Like everyone else has said: wait until your senior year, then ask your teacher. He/she will write it up and mail it.
