Letting teacher snail mail transcript first before submitting commonapp

Is this okay?
do you have to send in your commonapp application first?

If you have to send paper documents then make sure that you provide correct name, address and date of birth that should match information on common app. It does not matter if these are sent in advance as most colleges scan them and create a record for you based on the name / dob etc. They will be able to link to the app when it is submitted.

You can provide your teacher/counselor with your common app ID number, which is your unique identifier for all of your colleges, and your teacher/counselor can include that on any hardcopies they send in on your behalf. The common app ID number is located in the upper left of the screen when you first log into the common app.
