Hello! Does anybody know the terrace level (basement or floor 0) of Letts dorm in American University?
Yep, what’s your question?
As far as I can tell, the only difference between the Lower Level (basement, but AU doesn’t like to call it that) is that there are no windows. It might be kind of weird though because there are offices down there for AU Phonathon and the Office of Merit Awards too.
My daughter lived on the Terrace floor in one of the other dorms, McDowell, her sophomore year and it is fine. There were windows in her room and the rooms were the same size as the rest of the floors. I would be very surprised if there were any rooms without windows. I think that is a fire code non-negotiable.
Hi, I lived in Letts Terrace and the room is fine! There are windows and everything you would expect in a room. The cupboard set up is a little different because the ceilings are lower but other than that the dorms are fine. Easy to exit the building as well.
I lived on the terrace level of Anderson Hall for 3 years. The terrace is not a basement. It is below the first floor, but to get to the first floor from street level, you have to walk up a flight of steps. The terrace is essentially at ground level, with windows, climate control, indoor plumbing and everything. Now, why a AU calls this a terrace (which to me implies a relatively high place), I can’t explain.
