I got in to two great schools: Lewis and Clark in Portland, Oregon and University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. Now the hard part is choosing. I live in Southern Oregon and I'm a great student who loves discussion based classes. I am into the sciences and perhaps environmental engineering but I understand that minds change. I am an avid outdoorsman. I love snowboarding, kayaking, mtn. Biking, backpacking, hiking and pretty much anything else you can do in the out of doors. I like sustainability and am super into protecting resources but I can't stand pretentious, faux-hippies. I want an academic challenge but I also want time for the outdoors. There is a load of other things but I'll keep this short.

Lewis and Clark

or

UVM???

I don’t know much about Vermont, but when I visited Lewis & Clark last summer it was very “environmental”, I actually felt like I was at a camp site than a college campus. There were plenty of trees and trails, and I felt like I was in the middle of a forest.

Other than that though, it seemed like a great college. One of the better colleges in the area as far as academics go. I was very impressed with the opportunities offered as far as academics and extracurriculars go. Mount Hood is close to campus as well, great for snowboarding.

I find it an ideal university for an outdoorsman like yourself, good luck making a decision!

I’m trying to choose between the same two schools. Which one did you decide on? How do you like it?

Natlove, I think you’ll notice that was the only post for Bennysmall so I doubt you’ll get an answer. Is there a cost difference for you? Have you visited either/both schools?
