LGBT Friendly Schools??

Okay. I know the title is a little misleading, and Texas isn’t a very LGBT friendly state. However, I’d like to know about the type of environment at UT Dallas, Texas Tech, and the University of Houston if anyone knows. I have automatic admission to all three of these schools, but I want to be sure that I’m happy with my final decision and that I am living somewhere that is LGBT-inclusive to some degree. I don’t want to have to be stuck someplace for 4 years in the closet or fearing for my safety. My parents would like for me to go to A&M if I get in, but I’ve heard that they’re considered an “LGBT-unfriendly” school… But is it seriously that bad? I don’t necessarily need a “friendly” school, but I’d like to go somewhere where I won’t have to worry about anything if I’m holding hands with someone of the same sex on campus… I’m also going to be a Marketing major. What would be the best school to go to considering this and the environments of the schools mentioned?

Tech not so much. UTD I have not heard anything about pro or con. UH is still more of a commuter school in a big city with a lesbian mayor. IDK how liberal the campus itself is, but the surrounding city would be.

UTD is pretty LGBT-friendly. They do have a Pride group. My daughter talked with them at orientation. http://home.prideatutd.org/

UTD has been a very friendly school for my kids. It is the safety school for my 17yo. She really needs to leave Texas because of her issues with heat, but it is a school where she feels she will be safe.
