So I noticed that there was an option to apply for this community on some of the ucsd college pages.

What exactly is this community and do people actually join it?
there an actual separate housing for these students?

I don't get it... someone explain, please? (:

I was wondering the same thing!! if anyone could answer?

It’s just housing that is intended for the LGBT community. The resisdent assistant for that area is usually LGBT and will work with the LGBT resource center to provide support and resources to their residents. The housing isn’t “separate” per say. They will just usually designate one of the floors of a residential hall or apartments and designate that area as the LGBT interest housing. So the housing is just the same as everywhere else and you could tell it was LGBT insterest housing just walking by.

It just gives the LGBT community a chance to live in the same area and have the support of an RA who in knowledgable in LGBT issues. From what I’ve seen as RA, LGBT people do live there. Hopefully that explains what you were wondering.

oh ok thanks
not sure if I want go there, prefer to be mixed with straight guys lol…I’m straight acting and mostly have straight friends! if they really separate, that wouldn’t be ideal!
