Thoughts!
I’m looking mainly at the East Coast
There are many. Here are two standouts, but there are others as well, which hopefully some other posters can share.
Especially famous for Art History: Williams College
Art: Skidmore College
SMFA at Tufts. It’s a BFA program so should be more studio-intense than the BA degree with a major in art.
What are your stats so people make realistic recommendations?
Look into Bard and Colorado College (not east coast).
Sarah Lawrence, Vassar, Bard, Skidmore, Williams, Hamilton, Smith, Wheaton.
What kind of art do they want to do @chickenwindow ? That would narrow the search too.
May I please ask what you’ve heard about the SMFA/Tufts joint degree program? Is the Tufts side very rigorous? Wondering also about the retention rate of the Dual Degree program there. Do students ever find it too much and end up with just the BA/BS or just the BFA? Thank you!
