liberal arts in CA?

Does anyone know of liberal arts colleges in southern CA or San Francisco?
I don't know a lot about CA schools and all I've really heard about are UC and Cal state U's, which are harder to get into out-of-state without a fabulous GPA.

So, any suggestions for liberal arts schools that aren't too competetive? GPA avg. of around 3.0ish? they may not exist...just thought i'd ask.

CSUs aren't that hard to get into out of state I don't think. Neither are the lower tier UCs(Irvine, Santa Cruz, Riverside)
Some colleges that should be within reach of a 3.0ish GPA are Pitzer, Scripps, USF, St Mary's, Santa Clara U, and Dominican.

Pitzer (and possibly the other Claremont colleges as reaches)
Mills (if you're female)
Occidental in LA

3.0 is much too low for Scripps, and maybe even for Pitzer. The other suggestions seem good and within reach, though.

^^^^
yea, I just realized that definitely for Scripps a 3.0 is a reach. But Pitzer is a bit more plausible.

Redlands, Univ of Pacific is lac-like.

ever thought of checking out the College of Creative Studies at UCSB?

how about whittier college

UCSB current admit stats:

3.99 average GPA
1260 mean SAT I score
5% of admitted students are non-residents

admission to CCS requires additional credentials

I got into CCS with a 3.4 (might have been less, I probably didn't calculate it correctly). I went and looked at it, and it didn't seem too intense--in any case, I'd suggest giving it a shot.

My sister goes to Saint Mary's College in Moraga. It is a really beautiful campus and close to Berkeley and San Francisco. They also have a really good study abroad program.
