liberal or conservative

how are the politics at jhu

Most campuses fall on the more liberal side of politics, but I don't think JHU is particularly strong either way. Someone else will know more, I'm sure.

my essay might swerve into politics and leftism a bit thas y

ah, i went a little left for my essay
but not too left. instead of democratic i went with "progressive"

If your essay is thoughtful, intelligent, and respectful you should have no problem.

ive asked this on several boards, nobody seems to admit if their school is liberal or conservative. I had written a conservatively biased essay for the supplement for one school (not JHU), but decided against using it because most likely the adcom would be liberal

in general most adcoms are liberal, most schools, liberal

its because a university is a place of education , and not to offen any conservatives, the more educated you are the less conservative you are

ROFLCOPTER! confused... good one (not sarcastic)
its true, confused is rite haha conservatives (e.g. Bush rofl).

why do you think conservatives don't want to fund education, its reducing their constituency , i.e. republicans get their strongest support from religous people and we all know that as education levels increase (Europe would be a good example here) religousness decreases therefore republicans would decrease

I went into anarchy in my essay and I got in.

Talking about being liberal is just fine.

from my opinion at Hopkins you will your share of liberals and conservatives (a few more conservatives than most college campuses). i'd consider the overall climate to be very moderate, but you will find people who support the extreme left and the extreme right.

as for the adcoms, the ones i personally know range from quite liberal to quite conservative. but remember, they are professionals and do not let their personal politics bias the way they review applications.

confused23,
you don't have a clue what you are talking about. Try reading "Capitalism and Freedom" or the Wall Street Journal Editorial Page.

im guessing cour is a conservative
care to comment on the patriot act? im sooo interested in having my freedoms restricted
gotta love conservatives

haha ya i know dont you love how bush protects the constitution with wiretaps i just wonder how worse it could get if he was on the other side

ok Cour, read an op-ed in the NY times and see what that tells you.

Way to add nothing to a conversation.

ROFL
ah conservatives love to think things through dont they

haha this is definitely turning into a political debate.

in my government textbook it says that more educated people tend to be liberal. keep in mind that while your current politicians and stuff are conservative, they only represent a small fraction of the total educated population (just in case anybody tries to refute my point with that argument, as weak as it might be, haha)

perhaps CERTAIN liberals should spend less time thinking of arguments bashing conservatives, and more time on apps

go cujoe! cheer
