My son said that Lieberman's called today to remind him of sale prices until August 6 (I think). He plans to pre-order his books (and get them at freshman fest), but I am curious if people know of any advantages to one versus the other. Also, I am not sure of the return policy at both and want to make sure he can return them after classes start in case the teacher changes his/her mind.

Any advice?

Thanks

We just ordered with Lieberman’s for the first time, so I don’t know what the outcome will be, but they have a pretty straightforward return policy listed on the website. I think it says that they’ll take returns whenever as long as you have a receipt and that if you don’t have one, they’ll print it for you.

I used to work at the on-campus bookstore. Im pretty sure the policy for returns was that they accepted full returns with a receipt up to two weeks after the date that classes start.

Things may have improved over the last three years, and hopefully have, but as a newbie my D discovered that the UDel Bookstore did not have all the books she needed. Fortunately Lieberman’s did. YMMV.

Can you order from either book store and have them delivered to Freshman Fest? I thought there was a particular one, but admittedly I haven’t checked that yet. Will get to that this week when the course schedule is finalized. (I think they can get that online tomorrow.)

Has anyone ever used textbooks.com, amazon, or craigslist for books?

My D. ordered all of her books used from her Student Account through Amazon. We saved hundreds of $. She used the ISBN for all of them to ensure that they were the correct ones. She did a cost analysis of what she needed. $800. new from UDel bookstore. $500. used from them. Amazon used was $300. It said to allow 2-3 weeks delivery but half of them have already arrived a week later. Most of them are in excellent condition so if really beat up ones arrive, we still have time to obtain newer ones.
Amazon is offering a free 1 year membership to Amazon Prime for students. Not all books qualify for the unlimited FREE 2 day shipping but I would check it out because you’ll still save $.
