The way I see it, after four years at the UofC I would have 3 possible paths:
1. Continue my education in grad school, perhaps eventually earning a PhD.
2. Enter a professional school, like med school
3. Get a job straight out of college

It seems that UChicago students are excellent at path 1, with the school's sterling academic reputation. However, what about paths 2 and 3? I've read some horror stories on CC about UofC premed advising, and I know that UChicago does not do grade inflation like some Ivies - both of which might make getting into med school more difficult.

What has been your experience with these paths? Which characteristics/practices/foibles of UChicago are beneficial or detrimental, and why?

(note:I posted a similar thread on the Williams College board)
