Life as an EE Engineering Student?

Hello there! I am a rising Senior who is very interested in applying to UMichigan for Engineering (leaning towards EE)! I just have a few questions about the school:

How are the class sizes? I understand that all the intro 101 classes must be pretty big, but how big? Also, as the courses you take become more specialized, how much smaller do the classes become?

UMichigan has rolling admission right? What does that mean?

How is the workload? Is the school more collaborative or competitive?

How are the dorms?

My SAT scores are: M:780 CR: 640 W:720. Do I have a chance (I'm Asian)? I know there are other factors than scores but am I within the range?

Thanks for the input.

Most of the EECS classes except a few like 280 are in the range of about 90-150 students. 500-levels will definitely be smaller. If there are any specific classes you want me to check I can see how many seats are available for the class and how many are filled. I’m not in EE but I think EECS students in general are pretty collaborative and cooperative.

^answered some of it already but…
dorms depends. baits sucks, squad or markley is pretty bumpin.
Classes in ee are actually not that bad. They are a lot of work but not that terribly difficult. My gpa in ee classes is wayyyy high than my overall gpa etc. I think i only got one B+ and all other A’s so far, and I am not that smart (and humanities is my stronger subject). Pretty collaborative if you find the right people. I like to have a small group of 3-4 dedicated ppl who wanna do well to work with.
Rollin means they accept throughout the year. As apps come in they start accepting. Its in ur advantage to apply early.

My roommate was an EE student. I used to work in an engineering library. I saw EE students did the following most of the time:

Do homework in the library

Read or copy problem solutions posted in the library

Do some lab work but not as intensive as 1.

Ok. I’m just a little worried about class sizes… Do the classes feel a bit impersonal? And what about labs are they that large also?

Dont. once you get in ur ee classes, they dont feel big at all. If you go to office hours even a few times the profs will easily start remembering you.
Labs are like 20 people even for intro classes
