Hey Im just wondering, isn't it freezing cold up there? I'm in FL and used to the warm weather...which is one reason why I don't want to go up there for my eudcation.

I'm looking at the following colleges:

UF
Bentley college
& NEU

..UCF as safety but if it's in state I'll rather go to UF

Anyhow, anyone up there just hate the weather? doesnt that kinda make you lazy every morning...So i'm not really sure what to do. I got 1/3 scholarship at bentley even though I haven't applied to FASFA or anything ...since my parents just said no you can't go because we dont have money

The weather sucks - and I'm from New Jersey so I'm used to cold. I actually also hate the weather in Jersey. I wanna move to Florida after college. But I digress. I don't know how someone from FL would handle the cold. My friends here from CA seem to be doing alright ... it's bitter cold out at time and then sometimes it's warm-ish. The weather here is schizophrenic. It snowed on Nov. 12th. Seriously snowed ... with accumulation, snowball fights and snowmen. It doesn't impede our lives at all though, we all just tend to be inside right now. It doesn't make us lazy in the morning ... being up until 4 am makes us lazy in the morning.

Weather aside, Boston really is a cool area.

I've lived in Boston all my life and I HATE the weather. It's unpredictable up here. The winters are extremely bitter and I put on so many articles of clothing due to the cold today and that didn't work. The wind can knock the breath out of you when its cold. It takes a while, but you could easily get used to it after the first year. I consider the winters too cold and the summers too hot. And this isn't coming from someone who hasn't been here long.

Yah...the winter is harsh around here...no joke. I think yesterday the temperature was around 12 degrees. I visited Florida last month and I can definitely say that, as a Florida native, you will have a rude awakening about the weather around here. But, as surprising as this might sound, you get use to it although you will find yourself complaining about the weather a lot. Buhopeful definitely summarizes the weather around here. However, Boston and even other cities in Massachusetts have so MUCH to offer a person and the weather should not be the only reason, although it is really important, that you choose not to attend a college in Massachusetts. Come and visit.

I'm from Louisiana, and the weather was something to get used to. It wasn't all that bad until this week, with feel's like temps below zero. However, I have survived, even with a 10 minute walk from my dorm to class everyday. Don't let the weather be any reason not to come to Boston, it isn't that bad, just be mentally prepared for it and you'll be fine.

hmm ... different strokes for different folks.

I grew up in New England and love our weather ... but you need to play in the winter (ski and skate) or you will hate it. Winters are calmer near NYC and harsher if you keep heading north.

I've moved around a lot and did not like the weather in LA (which has 2 seasons ... 9 months of summer and 3 months of spring (in NE terms)) ... I need to be in a place with four seasons ... all which I enjoy in some way.

It's a lot like picking colleges ... different people people like different things ... it doesn't make it better or worse just a better fit for them
