Life Sucks, My State University is a Joke and I Wasted My Efforts

Nice link there, alpha2018. It's nice to see how many liars there are on this board. I should just quit going to these boards. Too many liars.

I officially will listen to nothing anybody says about their stats now. It's a shame, too. I recognize the OP from her posts on this board. Heck, I even got into an argument with her a couple of weeks ago, I believe. This board is so funny.

Lol you should've known never take people's words seriously on this board the first time you viewed CC and registered.

^^

Ha! Too true. I mean, how do I know that you, ibtelling, are going to Yale? ;)

(Shaking my head)

Guys its sad that someone will make stuff up of the bat. Honestly, is it necessary? Probably she needed an ego boost. Beats me.

In reference to the link alpha posted...16 AP courses, Valedictorian, 2380 SAT, solid ECs, and you got rejected from everywhere except a state school? Unless there is something terribly horrendous in your high school profile, I find this hard to believe—either your claim about getting rejected is false, your stats are false, or you are just very, VERY unlucky.

The OP needs to realize that he or she isn't dealing with fools on this board. Theres a specific reason why threads and post history's doesn't have a "block" feature.

wow. what a liar. and then she goes on about how her life sucks now.

Strong stats for a failure.

Well those stats were from 2005. So the fact that she not only became a super senior, but a super duper senior is probably why she rejected.

hahaha this thread was perfectly executed. Miss S. i'm happy this happended to a person like you =]

I'm going to repeat what some others have said:

There is no point in applying to a school you don't like, whether it's a match, safety or reach. Are you seriously saying that among THOUSANDS of Universities in the US, you couldn't find ONE safety that was a better fit for you? I highly doubt that.

Life isn't fair. Learn to deal.

You should be slapped for complaining about having to go to UIUC. The overwhelming majority of people would KILL to go there.

If you're willing to give Miss Silvestris the benefit of the doubt, one possible explanation is that the chances thread from 2005 was posted by an older sibling.

In any case, Miss Silvestris, you do not deserve much sympathy because of your negative attitude. If you absolutely loathe UIUC, you should have applied to other safeties that you would've felt comfortable at. I'm sure you worked really hard during high school - guess what, we all did. Your cynicism will only fetter you to the "mediocrity" that you so fear.

Seriously, it's not a bad school at all. About a year ago, when making your lists for possible colleges, you should have looked into the concept of "loving your safety". It's not a joke. Many parents and posters on CC have wrote about it long and hard. Personally, I love my safety, UNC-Chapel Hill (instate). I plan on applying to some nice, upper-tier schools and expect to be rejected from every single damn one. But, I have made a safety that I know and love. It want come as a blow to me. Rethink your pessimism and cynicism.

lucky! your safety is UNC?

nonetheless, i love my safety as well!

Stop hating on Miss S. She, overambitious freshman, just wanted to get a prediction for what schools she could get into with her projected stats, crazy as they were.

Lulz there needs to be a giant FAIL stamp for Silverstris.

Marimare may have a point. Still, if this is the case, she should have indicated "expected" stats.

Oh yeah, completely understand. I try not to make myself feel that. AHHHHHH Me next year AHHH. well at least if I end up in a State University, there probably will be people like me who was fit for top colleges, but wasn't lucky enough. Think about that.

sigh Let's look at the stats again.

Those were projected.

My ACT is 36, my SAT is about 2200. 2380? Nope. But the ACT makes up for it :)

Minor details were switched due to circumstances.

The AP is still true. I will have 13 AP credits by the end of this year. (Human Geo, Psych, World History, German, Env. Science, Euro, Govt, Art History [Lit, Lang, US, Micro Econ, Macro Econ])

I still have straight As.

The fencing team did not work out. HOWEVER, I still made significant contributions in that area outside of school.

I studied in Austria instead of Spain.

I wouldn't jump on me like a bunch of morons. My stats are more or less what I thought they would be. I am not a straight-C student who goes and lies on internet forums for kicks. I had no idea that asking opinions on reasonable, projected stats was 'OMGZ against the rulez'.

That said, I'm not checking this thread anymore. I said what I wanted to say :) Thanks for the support, most of you.

EDIT: 13 APs, not 14.
