Lifelong Vassar Friendships

I spent part of yesterday with four men who dormed together at Vassar, two of their wives who went to Vassar, and the third guy’s ex-wife who also went to Vassar and stopped by briefly to say hi to everyone. (My husband was the only one of the four Vassar men not to marry a Vassar woman). They were celebrating their 50th birthdays together!!!

They had so many wonderful stories of their times together at Vassar. And the friendship lasted all these years (as has my husband’s friendship with another man from Vassar who was not part of this same social group).

I think it speaks to what a great community there is at Vassar.

It also speaks to the quality of your husband  . I very much hope that D19 will find the kind of people in college who can maintain a relationship for decades like that!

As a mom of an almost (in 3 weeks!) freshman, this is a great story. I have those same relationships with my college friends, and hope that our son would have a similar experience. From what I’ve seen from the kids he’s connected with so far, the kids are a unique and accepting group. We’re thrilled to soon be a part of the Vassar community! With 3 weeks to go, this warmed this almost empty nester’s heart!
